Based on analyzing the features of low frequency phase noise of laser beam, RMS of phase gradient was introduced to characterize it and the corresponding wavefront model was constructed by using random phase screen. The primary relationship between the size of the focal spot and RMS of phase gradient was also given by simulation calculation.
