Control of beam halochaos via exterior magnetic field selfadaptive control

  • This paper presents the magnetic field parametric selfadaptive method for controlling the beamhalochaos in the periodfocusing channel. The method is applied to the multiparticle model with the periodfocusing magnetic field channel. The PIC simulation results show that beam halochaos for four different kinds of initial proton beams can be controlled effectively, respectively. The beam halos and its regeneration can be eliminated. This method is easy to realize in experiment .The research offers a valuable reference for the design of the periodic focusing channels in the highcurrent linear proton accelerators.
