EXPERIMENTAL INVESTIGATION OF LARGE AREA DIODE FOR A HUNDRED -JOULE KrF LASER

  • Experimental investigation is described of a large area diode for a hundred-joulelevel KrF excimer laser pumped by an intense pulsed electron beam of 100ns.Using a 12cm × 75cm rectangular carbon felt cathode an anode of 30μm Al foil or 9 wires of Φ1.3mm spaced by 13mmfrom each other,the total electron beam energy of high than 8kJ is obtained at the electrodeseparation of 20~22mm,Marx generator voltage of 1.1~1.2MVs diode peak voltage of 620~670kVand diode peak current of 150~170kA。The maximum output energy of 106J is achieved for theKrF laser beam.
