Analysis of third harmonic generation of broadband laser using cascaded crystals

  • By using one type Ⅰ doubling and two type Ⅱ tripling KDP crystals in quadrature, the influence of the bandwidth of the fundamental field and the detuning angles of the mixers on the power spectrum of the third harmonic field has been discussed. The factors influencing the conversion efficiency of the third harmonic field has also been analyzed. It is shown that the distribution of the power spectrum of the third harmonic field depends on the bandwidth of the input fundamental field and the detuning angles of the mixing crystals. The bandwidth of the third harmonic field is nearly 3 times that of the input fundamental field.
