NUMERICAL SIMULATION OF LASER ENERGY DEPOSITION IN CAVITY TARGETS

  • Supposing that the space and time distributions of laser beam were Gus-sian.We selected the parameters of the laser beam that was traced using the Monte Carlo method and a beam-tracing method.According to some experimental data and theoretical considerations,the effect of the entrance hole closure was also calculated with an assumption of a constant closing velocity.To calculate the laser absorption in plasmas,the effect of Back-Brillouin scattering was also considered besides inverse brems-strahlung and resonant absorption.On this basis we developed the laser absorption code for cavity targets.Using the cade,we calculated the absorption and scattering of incident laser beams in cavity targets.In this paper,the method and results are discussed.
