STUDY ON A L BAND RELATIVISTIC KLYSTRON AMPLIFIER

  • Design of resonance cavities and emission, transmission, modulation of annular intense relativistic electron beam for a L band relativistic klystron amplifier is described . An annular electron beam of voltage 500kV, current 4.5kA, diameter 54.5mm, thickness 4.5mm is produced from an annular foilless diode, and a 536MW output peak microwave power was observed after three cavities. The efficiency is 21%, and the gain is about 30dB.
