Novel finite-difference time-domain analysis of electromagnetic wave transmission characteristics of magnetized plasma

  • A novel finite-difference time-domain(FDTD) method is proposed to analyse electromagnetic wave transmission characteristics of magnetized plasma. The constitutive equation between current density vector and electric field strength vector is tranformed into s-domain by the principle of Laplace transform, and the inverse Laplace transform is adopted for the explicit equations between them in time-domain. Finally through exponential time stepping, the FDTD iteration equations are obtained, which can be easily solved in discrete-time-domain. By these techniques, the difficulty, that the two components of the current density vector can not be discreted because of their coupling in the constitutive equation, is solved.
