CALCULATIONS OF RAMAN SCATTERING FOR HIGH POWER LASER BEAMS IN THE ATMOSPHERE

In this paper, we have deduced a set of equations to study the power limit due to SRRS of N₂ for high power laser propagation in the atmosphere,and calculated the threshold value of laser intensity.The relation between the threshold value of laser intensity and laser wavelength,and pulse width has been obtained.In addition,we have also studied two dimensional effects and accumulation effects of the phonon excitation when multipulse laser beam propagates through the atmosphere.
