In recent years extensive investigations and comments have been devoted to the diffraction-free beams. In this paper, the related physical coneepts,production methods and propagation properties of difftaction-free beams,and their potential a pplications to high-power las er technologies are analyzed phys ically in detail,so as to expect a further discussion.
