    AN ELECTRON GUN FOR HIGH BRIGHTNESS FEL INJECTOR

      Abstract
    • The design and performance of an electron gun with high repetition rate, intensive beam current for CIAE-FEL injector is presented in this paper.Tested re- sults are as follows: pulse beam current is 5.8A, pulse width(FWHM)is 2.2ns andpulse repetition rate is 2.16MHz.In ordet to lower the trigger pulse voltage and make it oper- ate at the high repetition rate,the cathode-grid assembly a with distance of O.lSmm between cathode and grid was used.
