Measurement and research of the quality factor of quasioptical resonator by scalar network analyzer

The quality factors of FabryPerot resonator was measured by scalar net work analyzer. A new method was approved to determine the number of the mode. The testing results given by AV3617 were presented and external quality factor, unloaded quality factor were calculated. The measurement error was also analyzed and the main aspect of measurement error was the frequency data of half power point. Depending on the high frequency resolution of HP83630A and using reference marker the precision was improved.
