MODE-L0CKED AND Q-SWITCHED Nd: YAG SLAB LASER SIDE-PUMPED BY A LASER-DIODE-ARRAY
This paper describes the performance of a mode-locked and Q-switched Nd:YAG slab laser, operating at 50Hz, optically pumped by a quasi-CW 60W diode laser.At a repetition rate of 48MHz, pulses of 60ps durations have been ob-tained.The energy within the 250ns Q-switched pulse envelope is 163 μJ,giving a peak power more than 100kW.
