DIAGNOSIS OF GERMANIUM PLASMA CHARACTERISTIC IN X-RAY LASER EXPERIMENTS
-
Abstract
A 500~600J, l.5ns, and 1.05μm laser beam was focused to a 120μm×20mm line on a 1mm thick germanium target. Space-resolved X-ray crystal spectrograpies were utilized to measure X-ray spectral intensilies. The electron temperature in the Ge XXⅢ plasma was estimated to be 400~600eV from intensity ratios of the 2p-nd (n≥4) transition lines. Two types of axial structure were abserved, one characterized by a finely corrugated structure, and the other by a mm scale irregular nonuniformity.
