INTENSITY AND POSITION MEASUREMENTS OF AN INTENSE PARTICLE BEAM-USING RESISTANCE RING

  • The article presents a measurement method of intensity and position for LIA beams. By monitoring the image current on the inner pipe wall the beam intensity and position are obtained. Beam current measurements are accurate to less than 2%, and beam displacement less than 1 mm off-axis can be observed. The sensor which has a simple configuration does not interfere with beam propagation and is outside the vacuum system for easily maintenance.
