ELECTRON BEAM DYNAMICS IN LINEAR WIGGLER WTIH GUIDING FIELD OR QUADRUPOLE FIELD

  • Electron beam trajectories and envelopes through a linear wiggler with an axial guiding magnetic field or a distributed quadrupole magnetic field are discussed analytically and numerically. An analytic expression for linear wiggler drift is presented. The perturbation methods are used in analysis and the agreement between the analytic solutions and the numerical solutions is excellent.
