Abstract:
We used the rod-type photonic crystal fiber as a gain medium and designed an experimental system for picosecond pulse amplifier. Output power, slope efficiency and optical-to-optical conversion efficiency, beam quality, repetition rate, pulse width, spectrum of the rod-type photonic crystal fiber picosecond amplifier were analyzed. As a result, we got a maximum average power of 101.7 W, repetition rate of 30 MHz, pulse width of 6.4 ps, beam quality of
Mx2=1.111,
My2=1.017 near diffraction limit laser with slope efficiency of 65% and optical-to-optical conversion efficiency of 58.9%.
