Abstract:
Background With the rapid popularization of civilian and consumer drones, the low-altitude security threats posed by their "low, slow, and small" characteristics are becoming increasingly prominent. Counter-drone detection systems have become an urgent need to ensure public safety and protect critical infrastructure.
Purpose Radar, as a core sensor with all-weather, all-time, and long-range detection capabilities, plays an irreplaceable and crucial role in counter-drone systems.
Result This paper systematically reviews the core position of radar in counter-drone systems, introduces the main technical systems of low-altitude counter-drone radar, and deeply analyzes the key technical challenges faced by radar in detecting "low, slow, and small" targets, such as strong clutter suppression, multipath interference, target identification, and drone swarms.
Conclusion Finally, from five dimensions—radar architecture innovation, distributed collaborative detection, intelligent information processing, breakthroughs in anti-jamming technology, and integrated sensing and communication—the future development trends of low-altitude counter-drone radar technology are projected.
