Abstract: A coherent harmonic generation FEL experiment is under way in 800MeV electron storage ring in National Synchrotron Radiation Laboratory, USTC. Spon taneous emission spectrum of a optical klystron for the experiment has been measured, a modulation factor of 0.7 has been obtained. This paper presents measurements of spontaneous emission spectrum and enhancement of modulation factor．
