PEOS功率倍增装置的物理设计与等离子枪实验

PHYSICAL DESIGN OF AN INDUCTIVE STORAGE WITH A PEOS AND PLASMA GUN EXPERIMENTS

  • 摘要: 对PEOS功率倍增装置进行了物理设计与模拟计算并进行了脉冲等离子体枪实验。给出装置参数的选择方法,包括电路参数与PEOS参数的选择。为得到要求的功率倍增和能量传输效率,分析指出注入等离子体密度np与速度vd的乘积要大而np相对要小,vd要大;而且为断路快、阴极半径r要适当小;模拟计算结果证实了这一分析。对装置关键部件脉冲等离子体枪进行设计、研制和实验,在距枪60cm处测得碳离子速度vd~5×1011cm/s,离子密度np~4×106/cm。

     

    Abstract: The physical design and the computer simulation for inductive storage with a plasma erosion opening switch (PEOS) have been performed and plasma gun experiments have been conducted.In this paper the method for choosing parameters of the device including the circuit and PEOS is given in order to maximize the energy transfer from the accelerator to the load while obtaining the desired power multiplication.It is shown that in order to get a good performance of the system the product of injected plasma density n p and velocity vd must be large enough but with a low n p and high vd.In addition,radius of the cathode should be small to get fast opening.Our computer simulation also confirms this point of review,Furthermore the voltage,current and impedance history as a function ofthe input waveform,geometry,and PEOS parmeters are also given.The conical spiral gun which is a key unit of PEOS has been designed,built and tested.We have measured the gun ion current with a Faraday cup which is 60 cm from the gun.The carbon ion current density has a peak value of np-4×1011/cm3 and the drift velocity of ion is vd-5×106 cm/s.
